I do deck repairs. When I replace deck boards, I hand pick the best boards out of the bin. Most of the boards there aren’t good for much, but I see them on decks all the time. Cracks, knots, and other imperfections look bad, and they deteriorate faster than a good quality board.
I know my wood. I know the crown should always go up, and I pre-drill all my screw holes to prevent boards cracking now and in the future.
My clients don’t have to be afraid to step out onto their deck anymore. I refurbish their deck with additional structural support, new decking boards, and hand rails, with exterior rated screws for a fraction of the cost of tearing it down and rebuilding new.
If someone you know is afraid to step out onto their deck, or if it’s just plain ugly, I can bring it back to life and make it safe for future deck parties.
