For some jobs, tried and true methods are best, but for others, the latest methods and tools can make a big difference when it comes to the finished product.
A great example of this is a portable “mini router” and “door jig”. Door slabs from the big box stores do not always come with the hinge and door knob cutouts, and even if they do, they will likely be located in the wrong places. That’s why the hinge insets must be chiseled or routered most of the time.
My client “Brad” was pleased when he saw his new door with its factory looking hinges installed rather than the old door with its rough hand chiseled hinges, that were installed by “someone else”.
